A Mellow Spring, and Plans to Travel. And Anytype vs. Notion, etc.
The past few months have been relatively quiet. Most of our time after the wedding has been getting back into the groove of work, and enjoying our time together as a married couple (and one that has been married twice, no less).
But, that's not to say that nothing has been happening. In March Diya and I went back to India to attend her cousin Puchu's wedding. It was wonderful, and her cousin's parents, Kaku and Kaki-Ma, put in so much effort. I was so impressed, and really love these people.
Diya and I have also been spending some time these past couple weeks narrowing down a gym membership. We finally found a good gym and trainer only a 10-minute walk from our house. We've partway through our first full week of gym sessions, and I am already feeling less sore than the first time, haha.
We do have some nice plans on the horizon. These are mostly still works-in-progress, but so far we are planning on:
- A trip to see the Grand Canyon and Antelope Canyon in May (next weekend!).
- I'll be introducing Diya and her father to my extended family up in Truckee in August.
- We're planning to head to Europe in the second half of October!
So, lots of amazing sights on the horizon!
Other Things!
Although it's small, I've just recently been dabbling with Anytype as a local little organizer app, similar to Notion. I've only been dabbling with it for a day, and although it certainly has a few growing pains, and requires some getting used-to (as all these large database/organizer tools do), I am really liking that it allows me to work offline, locally on my machine. For some reason, I'm always attracted to apps that I can use offline, as if I expect to be travelling at sea for weeks and just need to jot down that new recipe, dammit! At least I'm consistent, since I am currently using Publii to build and manage my websites locally as well.
Of course, on that front I've also been dabbling with Bludit, to overcome the inconveniences of a blog relegated to certain machines... the fight never ends....
That's all for now! Until next time!
